A new Gallup poll shows discharged military veterans are more likely to use tobacco than other people.
I was already smoking when I volunteered for the U.S. Army, but my three years of service certainly solidified the habit.
In 'Nam, the c-rations came with mini packs of cigarettes, six to the pack, like this pack of Salem, though that was not my brand back then. Family would ship cartons to me.
Happy to report I quit many years ago, but I fully understand why some Vets would continue to smoke!
"Light 'em if you got 'em!"
