GPS

Why is your GPS device wrong so often?

A listing of U.S. Navy lodges includes this note in the directions to a lodge in Gulfport, Mississippi:

Please note: Do not use GPS, it provides incorrect directions.

The website How Stuff Works provided some of the answer in an undated posting.

And the Salon website gathered the nine worst examples of GPS supposedly leading drivers astray. Hint: just because the machine tells you to turn left, do not do so if there is a lake in the way.
Nonetheless, I'll take the occasionally fractured instructions from my GPS over my previous direction finding method.
     Guessing.
