Sometime in the distant past, someone leaned their rifle against a tree in the middle of the wilderness in Nevada...and never retrieved it.
The weapon is 132 years old, but there's no way to know when it was left leaning against a juniper tree in The Great Basin National Park. We Do know when it was discovered: in November by a survey crew.
The 1882 Winchester is one of 25,000 made by the company that year....and if only it could talk!
The park is 70 miles from the nearest airport....truly in the middle of nowhere.
