SELMA Week

The movie will open on Friday nationwide...and it is sure to be a big topic here in Montgomery, where part of the real story took place, and where it was partly filmed.
The family of George Wallace will certainly be watching...and the director tells Rolling Stone she wanted the actor playing him to give a nuanced portrayal, not some black and white caricature of the former Governor:

George Wallace, Jr.
Peggy Wallace-Kennedy
"...there's not a lot to love in Wallace if you believe in justice and dignity. But he found a videotape or an article of his son talking about him, and so he was able to tap into the father doing what he thought was right."

The Wallace children will be watching, but so will the collective citizens of Montgomery and Selma. Lots of talk about Oscars for the film.
