A Former President of the Alabama Juvenile Judges Association has been removed from the bench by the Alabama Court of The Judiciary, reports AL.COM
She describes herself as "the first black female elected or appointed to the state bench in Alabama". She was appointed in 1984 by then Governor George Wallace.

The Court of The Judiciary found Pettway violated the judicial rules. They issued a 78 page decision against her, including charges of bias in favor of small claims court debtors and failure to run her courtroom properly.
