A mational political website calls the newspaper The Hill on the carpet for mistakenly calling Alabama Governor George Wallace a Republican.
And they are right. Wallace was a Democrat.
But he was a States Rights Dixiecrat.
George Wallace and other Southern Democrats of that era are the political ancestors of today's Republican Party.
That's why Alabama is such a Republican State today. George Wallace Junior, the governor's son, is a full-fledged Republican.
It's easy to see where The Hill could make that mistake.
It's hard to believe The Breitbard writer doesn't know the difference.
(Note: a similar story was posted on that website in June of 2013, that time involving MSNBC calling Wallace a Republican.)
