     I'm sure retired Associated Press reporter Bob Johnson would have smiled at The Washington Times report on his death. It includes a photo of Bill Johnson, an Olympic athlete, his arms raised in victory under this headline:

     The Times was wrong about the photo, but unfortunately right about Bob's passing. At least it was an AP photo!
     So far as I know, Bob never had any dreams of competing in the actual Olympics...though he was a medal winner in my book in the daily journalism competition.

     Before his AP job, Bob was a capital reporter for The Montgomery Advertiser, and in that position, he was a regular guest on For The Record on APT, the network's then popular Week In Review segment on Fridays. 
     He always brought light to the subject and humor to the program. RIP, Bob.
