Then, and Now: The Depths of Inhumanity


From the middle East today:

"KABUL (Reuters) - A motorcycle suicide bomber killed 14 people near a gathering of Muslim clerics in the Afghan capital on Monday after they had issued a fatwa against suicide bombings....
The bomb killed seven clerics..."


And from a NY Times story about the new Lynching Memorial in Montgomery, reporting an incident from a hundred years ago:

"David Walker, his wife, and their four children were lynched in Hickman, Kentucky, in 1908 after Mr. Walker was accused of using inappropriate language with a white woman."
