And an Alabama Cofederate Memorial Ruling too

Jefferson County Circuit Judge says law "protecting" Confederate Monuments (and others) is unconstitutional. Alabama A.G. says ruling will be appealed.

The State Monument in Montgomery.*

The case involved a monument in Birmingham. which the city covered up with plywood to get around the law banning the removal of monuments like it.

The Birmingham mayor supports the court decision, pointing out...

“We were not even a city during the Civil War”.

Alabama News Network has the story.

*The Confederate Flags that surrounded the Montgomery monument were removed during the Administration of Robert Bentley. But the very first election campaign ad aired last year by Governor Ivy praised the law for protecting the state's history:

"...here in Alabama we know something that Washington doesn’t. To get where we are going means understanding where we have been."
