The City of Montgomery is about to end the month of September 2019 with almost NO measurable rainfall. The only rain---as measured at the official collection spot at the airport---came one early September day when 0.05 inches fell.
That's a record. The previous driest September was in 1923 when there was .12 inches of rainfall.
And thanks to Alabama News Network's Ryan Stinnett & Ben Lang for confirming my suspicion!
Normal rainfall for September is just under four inches.
UPDATED on 9-30-19: No rain yet, making this the driest September ever in Montgomery!
