"Montgomery has a stark choice to make on October 7. We can choose a businessman, or we can choose a typical politician."
From a David Woods campaign email.
Plus a flyer delivered Monday took shots at Reed as "just another politician" who "spent over $20,000 on luxurious taxpayer funded trips...". (That would be trips to College of Probate Judges meetings)
Unless I've missed it, I have not seen any attack ads from Wood's opponent, Steven Reed.
UPDATE!!! Reed's attack ads started on TV this afternoon:
The elephant in the room is race. Reed will be the first black mayor of Montgomery if he wins on Tuesday.
If Woods wins, he'll be another in a very long line of white men to serve as Mayor, a line that started in 1838.
Not that the race of a candidate's is the most important or only factor voters should consider. But the letter writers to The Advertiser who say race is not a factor must be ignoring city and state history.
