What's up with the dog hatred?

The New York Times columnist Frank Bruni noted the White House use of "dog" as a put-down in presidential hate-tweets last week, and now Democratic Presidential candidate and former U.S. Vice President Joe Biden is under attack by Donald Trump Buddy Kim Jong Un:

North Korea calls Biden a ‘rabid dog’ who deserves to be beaten to death*

     Bruni pointed out how much material the Oval Office dog hatred has provided for reporters:

"Journalists with many news organizations (The Washington Post, New York magazine, Slate and more) have had a field day with Trump’s dogged use of “dog” as an all-purpose put-down. When it comes to “like a dog,” he’s like a dog with a bone."

     Trump is apparently the first president in a century to not have a dog in the White House.

*In normal times, the current administration would at least take exception to a foreign dictatorship calling a former VP names. 
     But these are not normal times, and Trump hates dogs so much that he probably agrees with the North Korean message.

 A TRUMP TWEET

"Mr. Chairman, Joe Biden may be Sleepy and Very Slow, but he is not a 'rabid dog'," the president tweeted in a tepid defense of the 2020 Democratic presidential candidate. He added that Biden is "actually somewhat better than that."
