About the BiCentennial Anniversary Concert

I was not there (but I had been earlier----about 9:30AM) but I watched most of the concert broadcast on APT, and was left wondering why some big name Alabama acts were absent. It may be that the organizers waited too long to book them, or that the decision to actually have a concert was made to late, but where were

Alabama Shakes (or singing solo, Brittany Howard), Lionel Ritchie, The Commodores, Jimmy Buffett, The Drive-by Truckers, Clarence Carter, Ruben Studdard, Gucci Mane, Taylor Hicks....

And what was up with the bass that Martha Reeves had to call for it to be adjusted three times during her set? Hey. it's a live show and things will go wrong, but still....

Despite those comments, I think the 200th Birthday party was a success, and the people who worked so hard to put it on should be given props.
Your thoughts?
