Restarting the largest retail center in Montgomery

The Eastchase shopping center in Montgomery plans to re-launch their "farmer's market" event on May 9th, despite Covid19.

A spokeswoman for the retail center was quoted in The Montgomery Advertiser:

“We’re not big box stores, so a lot of our stores don’t have a lot people in at one time,” (Suzanna)Wasserman said. “I think for the most part everyone is ready to open.”

But the actual decision will have to come from state officials to reopen the state.

Wasserman did not reply to an email asking if there would be limits on the number of customers allowed per store at Eastchase, or whether by reopening, Eastchase is assuring customers they will be safe from exposure to Covid19.

Eastchase includes a Dilards, a Target, a Books-a-Millon, A Kohls, and many smaller retailers, though the list on the center website includes some stores that have closed, including World Market and Pier 1 Imports.

Columbus, Ohio: For the third time in the last week, hundreds of protesters gathered at the Ohio State House to protest the stay home order that is in effect until May 1     In the meantime, a protest like those in other cities pressuring the state to allow reopening, will take place in Montgomery this afternoon.
There has been a strong gun-rights presence at the rallies in other states.
The first Alabama protest was in Huntsvile yesterday, but only 20 people took part.
In a Mother Jones article, one Trump White House aide compares the current protesters to....Rosa Parks:

“I think there’s a boiling point that has been reached and exceeded,” said Stephen Moore, a conservative economist. Moore is a member of both the White House council to reopen the country and a coalition of conservative leaders and activists seeking to push government officials to relax stay-at-home orders.

“I call these people the modern-day Rosa Parks—they are protesting against injustice and a loss of liberties,” Moore said of the protesters.

Alabama Governor Kay Ivey has said the reopening process must be gradual to prevent a second wave of Covid19 cases.
