Lunar Trash
The New York Times
posted an almost 50 year old NASA photo in
a story
today.
A laser reflecting panel, called a retroreflector, left by the Apollo 14 astronauts in 1971. (

As I looked at the old reflector device...and read the story about lunar dust inhibiting the reflective surface after all these decades...I spotted the even more interesting item in the photo. What appears to be a zip-lock type bag sitting on the surface to the right and rear of the reflector.
No, I'm not going to join the gang of wingnuts who says we really did not go the the moon, that it was all hoax. But I will wonder aloud about litter on the moon. Sure looks like a zip lock bag. And no, I am not the first person to raise the question.
HERE
is a website that did so four years ago,
And by the way, the Zip-lock bag was invented just a few years before the Apollo 14 mission.
