Fenced-In History

Six months ago today the Alabama Historical Commission announced he Capitol Building and other historic sites were being closed to the public.
Fencing has surrounded the Capitol since then.

The action came as protests over confederate symbols spread across the country, with some statues being torn down in Richmond (the second Confederate Capital after Montgomery) and elsewhere.

Tens of thousands of tourists visit the Alabama Capitol building every year, yet now they find themselves blocked by the temporary gates.
The Capitol Building is also more than an Historic site. It is an active office location for some elected officials, including the Governor & Treasurer.

I've asked state officials who run the Capitol complex for an update, but have not received a reply,
