Poetry: A Graetz Ending

Endings/Beginnings

By Tim Lennox.

Covid stole our hugs in the last masked months,

then even the air hugs were gone.

Jeannie was ready, the rest of us not.

I’d retired just in time

to sit with The Reverend (as the months passed).

Once he passed

she slipped away

more

each

day.

Hugs gone.

Stories silenced.

I’d love to hear the Bob & Jeannie greetings now!

And Ray too, of course. At last.
