Three black men, including the incumbent mayor of Montgomery, are running for mayor...and now a white candidate has joined them.
Barrett Gilbreath, announced Thursday he will be joining the mayor’s race. (HERE is the full Alabama News Network story.)
Incumbent Steven Reed is the first black mayor of the capital city. He was first elected in 2019, and is seeking a second term. The election is on August 22nd.

So who does Gilbreath's entry into the race hurt...i.e. who will lose votes of the existing candidates? Gotta be Reed.
