Today is the 68th Anniversary of the year-long bus boycott in Montgomery, a protest against the continued segregation of the city's public buses.
(l-r) Mrs. Jeannie Graetz & Rev. Robert Graetz, who arrived in Montgomery just in time to become central figures in the boycott and other Civil Rights events in the city. RIP!
Also arriving in Montgomery just in time to be part of the protests: Rev. Martin Luther King, who became pastor of the church on Dexter Avenue just down the street from the Alabama Capitol building that same year.
