Mental Health Resources: Alabama is dead last.

A new study finds Alabama has the fewest per-capita mental health resources in The Unites States.

We not only rank 50th, but the 49th State (Texas) and the 48th (West Virginia) have significantly higher resources.

While Alabama is last, Massachusetts is the state with the most mental health providers per capita, according to data published Dec. 5 by the United Health Foundation.

The data comprises the number of psychiatrists, psychologists, licensed clinical social workers, counselors, marriage and family therapists, and advanced practice nurses specializing in mental healthcare per 100,000 people in each state.
