The new building will be built next to the Gordon Persons Building, across Union Street from the Capitol Building. Work is underway on the foundation for the new five-story structure, seen in the distance in the photo below) The existing statehouse (to the right in this photo below) will be torn down...as it should be! One estimate predicted $55 Million dollars in repairs and upgrades are needed in the leaky, moldy building.
