Vietnam
A Mobile resident named Joe Green contacted me the other day to see if I was in fact the same Tim Lennox who served in AFVN (Armed Forces Vietnam Network) under MACV (The Military Assistance Command) Office of Information in 'Nam. I was, and am, and he told me about a website he's assembling about those days in 'Nam.
LTC (Ret.) Jere K. Forbus is also working on the project.
As for Joe, he wrote the news releases that were given to the civilian media during the afternoon press conferences in Saigon that became known as "The Five O'clock Follies." Once the website is finished I'll be glad to pass along the address. In the meantime...if you or a family member or friend served in an information type position in 'Nam, drop Joe a line here: macoi.vn@gmail.com.
I just finished scanning a bunch of photos for Joe, including this one of yours truly anchoring the 10:00pm News on the northernmost station in the AFVN Network, Detachment 5, Quang Tri, Vietnam.
There's already an AFVN site that's been up for a number of years, but Joe's will have a broader focus and will try to include biographical information about folks who were part of it all.
