MMMM* # 197 -- Stuff from All Around

Odd and interesting developments in the world of Media:

  •  Sanford, Florida, home of the Keystone Kops investigation into the shooting death of Treyvon Martin, is now trying to ban reporters from contacting city employees outside of their work hours. They're calling it stalking.
  • Hats off to NPR for an almost nine-minute long speculative piece on Friday titled Lone Star State of Mind: Could Texas Go it Alone?
  • A blogger with the Lawrence (Kansas) Journal newspaper has included the sequel to the movie Anchorman on a list of the best journalism movies of all time. I'm casting a vote for All The President's Men since I'm not a big Will Ferrell fan.

  • In case you missed it last week, it is now considered OK for reporters to call The President's Health Care Reform law "Obamacare". That was a GOP construct meant as a dismissive title for the law they love to hate, but now the head Democrat himself has adopted it. However, referring to a Democrat Legislator, is still GOPspeak. The adjective is Democratic.
