Obit: Jon Beans

       Veteran Alabama broadcaster Jon Beans died this morning.
     Jon had been News Director at the Alabama Public Television facility in Montgomery for almost two decades, until last year, when that facility was closed and all but one employee laid off. 
    He previously worked at WAKA/CBS 8 here in Montgomery and at KALB-TV TV in Louisiana. .
     Jon's Facebook page is filled this evening with well deserved tributes from people who worked for and with him over the years. I coincidentally had dinner tonight with three other former APT co-workers, and we raised a glass in his name, remembering his good works and steady temperament.
     John leaves his wife Sagusta and two children, Kaitlyn and Jonathan.  
     Rest in Peace, Jon.
