Consumer Alert

Folks who use credit cards to buy stuff at stores may find themselves hit with a surcharge soon...at least a giant settlement between the credit card giants and the retail world allows for it...and you can bet it will show up. The Wall Street Journal and others report:

"The settlement calls for merchants to advise consumers of the surcharges, potentially at the cash register. It also includes some restrictions on the extra amount they can charge."

So, keep an eye out for the charge. It will be a major test of consumers vs retailers...like the one where the banks started charging a debit-card fee.
