Secession Petition(s)

       People are using the "We The People" feature on the White House website to press for secession from the U.S.      
     About 17 state petitions are listed.
       Alabama is about a third of the way toward reaching its goal of 25,000 signatures.
       Really, must I ask again if we didn't learn any lessons from 150 years ago?
       And is a a coincidence that these have cropped up just after Obama's re-election?
