Military Insect Invasion! Blame The USA!

     The BBC reports on a supposed plot by the US in 1950 to drop beetles on Germany, bugs that would eat their crops and help the US win the cold war!
     Really! They had German kids out in the fields gathering the bugs in jars.
      The best part of the story is the irony the British broadcasters missed, not being American and all that. 
      The actual import of "VW Beetles" had just begun from Germany to the U.S.
