Legislators in Louisiana wants to name an official book of that state. The Bible.
And it got me thinking....what is the official book of Alabama?
As near as I can tell, we don't have one.
Flower? Sure.
Rock? Gotcha.
Song? Of course.
So I ask you, what should be the official book of Alabama (since the Bible has already been taken).
Possibles:
An 1840 science book?
The Biography of Bear Bryant?
Old Tom's Cabin?

Seems like To Kill A Mockingbird would be the obvious choice.
ReplyDeleteThe game book of Nick Saban.
ReplyDeleteAs for the Bible, I'm betting that only the King James Bible (1611) is specified in Louisiana.
ndfine, do you really think the racists in the Alabama legislature (and there are plenty) are going to accept "To Kill a Mockingbird?"
