Climate Change in Alabama

Bloomberg's BusinessWeek web site published an article this week about "climate change deniers" in Alabama. It charges they are blocking any preventative action in the state.
Many Alabamians don't believe it's happening, or that we humans have anything to do with it.
Many Americans don't even know Alabama has a coast.
I hear more ridicule than dialogue about Climate Change in Alabama, even though the vast majority of scientists who are experts in the field believe a) it is happening, and b) human activity is a significant contributing factor.

Many TV Meteorologists disagree...though some say they are afraid to take a public stand on the issue because it is so divisive.
One way or the other, it wouldn't take very much of an increase in the gulf water depth to have a major impact on South Alabama. NOAA has an online interactive map that allows visitors to see the potential impact of rising water levels on land, including the Alabama Coastal waters.
