True.... apparently there is a national forest in Alabama with a shortage of Indigo snakes, so a Florida Zoo is going to release some of them to help Alabama residents out.
I met....and touched!...an Indigo Snake on Alabama News Network This Morning not long ago, and the snake (the name escapes me) was kind enough not to eat me, so perhaps Indigo snakes in the National Forests in Alabama are OK.
There are apparently four National Forests in Alabama, though their main web page doesn't make it easy to find a map showing just where they are. And the news story does not name the one to be home to the snakes.
Nonetheless, I found this map via Google, and I just hope is it in the Conecuh or Bankhead National Forest where they are planning to depositing the Florida vipers.
That's the one furthest away from Montgomery. And Tim.
Sssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssss.

My guess is Conecuh, because its on the border with Florida.
ReplyDeleteYOU touched a snake? And lived? Hallelujah, a miracle!
Don't you wish that the Alabama legislature devoted as much effort to keeping snakes out of the state as they do "illegal aliens?"
