It was my pleasure to escort Mrs. Robert Graetz to a Black History Month event at Maxwell Air Force Base today. The event was in the base library, and they had a long display case showing items like the photo below...of Rev. Robert and Mrs. Graetz.
There was also a telegram from then Alabama Governor Chauncey Sparks ordering officials to prevent the integration of the Air Force base.
Rev. Graetz has been battling various health challenges in the past year or so, and thus was unable to come to the Maxwell celebration. But he was certainly talked about and inquired about!
