Montgomery historian (and all-around great person) Mary Ann Neeley died one year ago tomorrow at the age of 85, and efforts continue to preserve her legacy.
A neighborhood park near her home now bears her name.
The neighborhood added a fountain to the park, and when I visited Tuesday afternoon there were a number of people using it.
Ms. Neeley wrote a guidebook to Old Alabama town, which is available in local shops and online.
I was fortunate to have interviewed her several times. She was an amazing historical resource for Montgomery. RIP!

Yes, she was indeed a great person. I enjoyed talking with her occasionally. My wife and I lived at 1431 Magnolia Curve, which overlooks the park.
ReplyDeleteGlad to see that she is honored this way!
