Rosa Parks Doll

From the Mattel Toy Company:

"The Inspiring Women™ Series pays tribute to incredible heroines – courageous women who paved the way for generations of girls to dream bigger than ever before. We're humbled to welcome two new role models into this important collection: Rosa Parks Barbie® Doll and Sally Ride Ba"rbie® Doll!

On December 1, 1955, when Rosa Parks refused an order to give up her seat to a white passenger and move to the back of the bus, her act of defiance became the catalyst for the Montgomery Bus Boycott. Later hailed as "the Mother of the Modern Civil Rights Movement," Parks earned worldwide recognition and numerous awards including the prestigious Presidential Medal of Freedom and Congressional Gold Medal of Honor.

The dolls created to honor these two pioneers have each been sculpted in their likenesses of their real-life counterparts. Rosa Parks Barbie® Doll wears a floral dress under a smart wool coat. Included are glasses, gloves, a pillbox hat, and clutch accessories.
As with all Barbie® Signature Black Label® dolls, each one comes with a doll stand and Certificate of Authenticity. They'll also arrive in specially-designed packaging that tells their stories and includes a quote from each of them, too."
