Alabama's Main Autmotive Plant Problem....

...is workers, as in not enough of them!
The man who runs the Mercedes plant in Vance tells the Automotive News website:

"The biggest thing we need in Alabama is population growth. Alabama needs more people. A big question is how we'll sustain this regional growth without more people. Growing jobs without growing the population will be a challenge.
It's a good problem to have, and it's an opportunity. It's a great place to live. I love living here. But this region continues to grow and unemployment is low, partly as a result of the expansion of the auto industry. There's a big supply base here in the Southeast now, just among the European automakers — us, Volkswagen and BMW."
