MacKenzie Scott Announces $4.2 Billion More in Charitable Giving to 384 Groups
“She’s disrupting the norms around billionaire philanthropy by moving quickly,” an expert on charities said.
(N.Y. Times STORY)
Tons of money is enriching charitable entities across the country, thanks to the ex-wife of the richest man. So how much of it is reaching Alabama? I did a search of her list of hundreds of non-profits, and found none with the name "Alabama" in them. Not did I find any reference to Huntsville, Mobile, or Birmingham. But I did find:
The YMCA of Greater Montgomery made the list.
So did Feeding The Gulf Coast, which includes Some Alabama Communities in its targeted service area.

And speaking of Food, The Montgomery Area Food Bank also got some money.

I don't know how much each of those received.
I'm sure if I searched further, there are some smaller-town charities getting money. Look for yours on the link to her list that I provided above, and let me know what you find!
