UPDATED: Almost 100 Health Systems Mandate Vaccination for Employees. Only 2 Are in Alabama.

================================================

UPDATE: Pentagon expected to make vaccination mandatory for all active duty personnel, reports CNN:

(CNN) Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin is expected to seek authorization to make Covid-19 vaccines mandatory for all active duty troops as soon as this week, following President Joe Biden's directive that the military examine how and when it could make that happen.

Austin's "inclination is towards making the COVID-19 vaccine mandatory" for active duty troops, a defense official told CNN.

.......and those two are Federal facilities. The biggest?

The Department of Veterans Affairs is mandating COVID-19 vaccinations for 115,000 of its front-line healthcare workers, the first federal agency to do so. Starting July 28, those workers have eight weeks to get fully vaccinated or face penalties, including possible removal.

And Ft. Rucker is mandating vaccinations for people posted there. The fort was the first in the U.S. to do so.

     A refusal to mandate vaccinations contributes to the state's ranking of dead last.

51. Alabama
Number of people fully vaccinated: 1,696,031
Percentage of population fully vaccinated: 34.59

Many of those attending an Alabama GOP gathering to hear Georgia Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene speak cheered when she referred to the state's ranking of 51st, according to a story posted by The Alabama Political Reporter:

"Media were made to leave the July 23 fundraiser, held by the Alabama Federation of Republican Women at the Civic Center in Dothan, when Greene began to speak, but in a leaked video of the event, tweeted by the political radio and YouTube host David Parkman showed Greene saying, “I hear Alabama might be one of the most unvaccinated states in the nation.”

The crowd, who paid $100 each to hear Greene speak, cheered exuberantly and clapped at her comments."
