Yay for Mobile: Order placed for 500 Airbus jets

 "IndiGo and Airbus began the Paris Air Show the largest single commercial aircraft order in history. IndiGo placed a firm order for 500 A320neo family aircraft, bringing its total A320neo family orders over 1,200. The Indian low cost carrier’s orders now account for approximately 13% of the total A320neo family order book, including the A320neo and A321neo." (Source: HERE.)

     Not just coincidentally, South Alabama governments have just agreed to add $10-Million to the incentives they have provided Airbus for the already large plant in Mobile, bringing those incentives to $20-Million. I don't know if any of the Alabama-built planes will be part of the new deal, but one way or the other, it is good news for the company and, by extension, the Mobile location!

So news of the huge order for Airbus A320 aircraft is welcome news! It is expected to mean an additional 1,000 jobs at the plant.
