Five Years Ago today: Alabama Supreme Court UNAMIOUSLY upholds "Memorial Preservation Act"


 

 On November 27, 2019, the Alabama Supreme Court reversed that ruling by a vote of nine to zero. In their decision, the court stated that "a municipality has no individual, substantive constitutional rights and that the trial court erred by holding that the City has constitutional rights to free speech.

The bill had been signed into law by Governor Kay Ivey.
