Interviewed Philip Beidler for this weekend's FTR...his new book is "American Wars, American Peace, Notes from a son of the Empire". Beidler is a University of Alabama English professor and Vietnam Combat Vet. The new book compares and contrasts 'Nam and Iraq.
Has it really been 37 years since I was there in Quang Tri? What will Vets of the Iraq war think looking back in 2044? Some of the same disenchantment that many of we older Vets feel? On the panel for the interview were Dana Beyerle, The NY Times Regional Newspapers, and Al Benn, The Montgomery Advertiser, both of them Veterans, though not of 'Nam.
