Alabama Power is providing funding for a high-tech system to make sure hospital employees wash their hands.
Here's the company's news release
It all sounds like a great investment if it can reduce hospital patient infections by as much as 22%, but I suspect hospital employees are going to be annoyed about having to wear badges that monitor when (and if) they wash their hands, and issue reminders.
Do the badges dispatch runners to tell the nurses and doctors? I'm not sure. I guess the simple signs that said "Wash Your Hands!" didn't work.
