The Don Siegelman Case in The New Yorker

Jeffrey Toobin, yes the same CNN Legal Analyst, says it is time for President Obama to pardon the former Governor. He writes:

The Alabama Capitol Building.
Thanks to the courts, the line between illegal bribery by campaign contribution and the ordinary business of politics has all but disappeared. Throwing a man in prison for activity at the murky barrier between the two is simply unjust.

The New Yorker article does not cover much new ground for those of us in Alabama who have followed the case, but it can act as a primer for those who have not.
